    AmeriWater further strengthens healthcare offering

We have further strengthened our offering to the healthcare market with the addition of Nephros ultrafilters to our product range.

We now offer FDA cleared Nephros S100 Point of Use Filters and Nephros DSU-H Ice Machine Filters, which aid infection control within healthcare environments.

Nephros is a commercial stage medical device company that develops and sells high performance liquid purification filters known as ultrafilters, as well as a hemodiafiltration system for the treatment of patients with end stage renal disease.

Nephros ultrafilters are used primarily in hospitals and medical clinics to retain bacteria, viruses and endotoxins from water, as they provide barriers that assist in improving infection control in sinks, showers, and ice machines. Additionally, they are used in dialysis centers for assisting in the removal of biological contaminants from the water and bicarbonate concentrate supplied to patients via hemodialysis machines.

The Nephros S100 Point of Use Filter, a disposable point of use micro-filter, is designed for sinks and showers which are primary sources of patient exposure. The S100 ultrafilter is designed to assist hospitals and medical facilities with their efforts to protect patients from water-borne bacteria, such as Legionella and Pseudomonas, and provides an up to 90-day solution.

We also offer the Nephros DSU-H Ice Machine Filter. Nephros’ proprietary hollow fiber membrane ultrafilter retains bacteria, endotoxin and viruses to provide ultrapure water. The DSU-H’s dual-stage design provides redundancy and up to 6 months of protection in a self-contained unit.
AmeriWater Chief Executive Officer, Dennis Mahoney, said: “We are continuously developing our product offering to ensure we provide customers with advanced and high-quality water purification products which meet the latest water quality requirements.

“The recent addition of Legionella risk prevention measures to CMS site inspections of hospitals and long term care facilities, based on guidance from ASHRAE 188-2015, has increased the focus of infection control personnel and facilities engineers throughout the industry – the introduction of the Nephros ultrafilters to our product line allows us to meet this demand.

“We have a longstanding relationship with Nephros and are delighted to add these products to our offering.”

“AmeriWater has been a valued partner for Nephros for many years and we are excited for them to expand their efforts into healthcare infection control support,” said Shane Sullivan, Director of North American Sales at Nephros. “With its solid foundation in dialysis, AmeriWater is well positioned to help manage the increasing focus on water quality at hospitals and other medical facilities across the nation.”

The addition of the Nephros ultrafilters to our product range, comes at a time of growth for us as we have recently launched new PRO4 Series Reverse Osmosis Systems, for our industrial range.

We have also recently appointed Mr Dean E. Mocko as Director of Operations. Dean, who has extensive experience of production best practices, facility start-ups and operations re-organization projects will bolster our product quality initiatives and facilitate the further growth of our business. His role will entail overseeing purchasing, inventory management, production and logistics.
